Here is an excerpt from his website:
“Before being elected to the City of Cottonwood Council in 2013, I served for 12 years on the Governing Boards for Mingus Union High School and the Cottonwood-Oak Creek School District, half of those years seated as Board President. The 15 years I have spent working with our local educational institutions and City government has taught me the importance of broad-based community leadership, the value of supporting individuals and families, and the difficulties we encounter trying to provide those supports while working within limited tax-payer supported budgets.
I take pride in the values and integrity of my family’s history of serving the citizens of Yavapai County for more than a century. Randy Garrison for Supervisor Family Yavapai County Dating back to their arrival in Cottonwood in 1879, my family has served as Mayors and Councilmen, County Supervisors, School Board Members and Teachers, County Sheriff, Post Master, County Recorder, and first woman elected to the Arizona Legislature (representing Yavapai County). Rooted in the Verde Valley, we have also been entrepreneurs, successfully working cattle and dairies, stores and automotive dealerships, land development, water utilities, commercial and industrial real estate, lumber and e-commerce. The family was instrumental in establishing the Marcus J. Lawrence Hospital at its current site, the Cottonwood Fair Grounds, Mingus Union High School Cottonwood location, the Cottonwood Airport, the Cottonwood Pool and Park, the Verde Valley Guidance Clinic, the original Cottonwood Post Office and Cemetery, as well as participate in many other public/private community programs and buildings.”
