Mitzvah (Good Deed) Day
An intergenerational, interfaith, spirit-led day of service to our communities and neighbors 10th Anniversary
Rotary Club of Sedona and Rotary Club of Sedona Village Satellite were invited to have their members participate in the 10th Annual Mitzvah here in Sedona. So many members did just that this past Sunday. Danielle and I along with our son joined the Gardens of Humanity in helping build a garden at the Sedona Red Rock High School. It was a simply beautiful day in Sedona and a great day with my family and neighbors as we gathered at St. Andrews Episcopal Church to check in for our projects. We then were treated to Mitzvah Day T-shirts along water and food to bring with us as we volunteered at our individual projects. For our family that project was the above mentioned garden building project. We look forward to next years Mitzvah Day!! For further information please visit the following website.

Indoor/Outdoor Projects
4 volunteers to sort clothes, price and repair items at Twice Nice Thriftique Sedona
4 volunteers to sort clothes, price and repair items at Twice Nice 2 Cottonwood
4-6 volunteers to paint art display pedestals and other items at Sedona Arts Center
7-10 volunteers for Creekside litter cleanup in Oak Creek Canyon
5-7 volunteers to clean up and tend flower boxes at Kachina Point in VOC
6-10 volunteers to work with Gardens for Humanity at the Peace Garden of SCLC
10-12 volunteers to work with Gardens for Humanity at local schools
2 volunteers to paint a wall at Cottonwood Senior center
4 volunteers to clean out/sort stuff in shed at Cottonwood Senior Center
4-6 volunteers to stuff, label and stamp envelopes for Verde Valley Humane Society Cottonwood
4-6 volunteers to install a “Mud Kitchen” at Buena Vista/Bright Futures Child Care
4-6 volunteers to inventory and prep at Bountiful Kitchen in Sedona
2-4 volunteers to organize the library at Verde View Senior Apts in Camp Verde
6-8 volunteers to paint 3 small rooms at Old Town Mission in Cottonwood
10 Adults/15 children to make toys, clean, landscaping at Sedona Humane Society
15 volunteers to help with 3 senior neighbors’ yard cleanup thru VV Caregivers
5-7 volunteers to paint, clean refrigerators, wash floors, etc. at Sedona Food Bank
4-6 volunteers to assist in the Miracles Happen Resale Store in Cottonwood
8-10 volunteers for landscape cleanup/ power wash the building at Catholic Charities
20 volunteers for Mitzvah Day Administration/staffing tables at registration
10 volunteers to visit senior residents at Cottonwood Village
10-12 volunteers to work with the USFS on erosion reduction project in Cornville
8-10 volunteers to paint a wall/organize mdse at Habitat for Humanity Cottonwoo
